Welcome to our home. We’re delighted to have you here and hope you have a wonderful stay. Please contact us if there is anything we can help with to make your visit as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
We would be grateful if you could send us a quick message when you arrive to let us know you got in safely, and another when you are leaving so we can prepare the house for the next guests.

July 2026 update: We are currently having the exterior of the house painted. No work will take place during your stay. The outside walls have recently been power washed and prepared for painting, so you may notice some patches of discolouration. This is normal.
Arrival and key collection
You’ll receive a message in the Airbnb app the day before check-in with the 4-digit code for the lockbox. The lockbox contains the front door key.
You’ll find the lockbox on the back of the gate to the left-hand side of the house. Please see the photos for its exact location.

Guest Information
Important – Toilets As the house is in a privately managed development, please take care with what goes into the toilets. Please only flush pee, paper, and poo, as anything else may block the sewage system for the whole development, including wet wipes! Thank you for your cooperation.
Parking
Please park in the driveway. Any additional cars may park in front of the house, provided they do not block our neighbours’ driveways.
Smoking
Smoking is not permitted inside the property
Pets
Pets are welcome, and we simply ask that you clean up after them and dispose of any waste responsibly. Please keep pets downstairs. If you have pet allergies, please bear in mind that this is a pet-friendly home and previous guests may also have brought pets. Thank you for your understanding.
Garden
If you are bringing a dog, please pick up any mess, bag it, and place it in the black bin.
Quiet hours
To help us be considerate to our neighbours, quiet hours are from 11:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. on weekdays, and from 11:00 p.m. to 11:00 a.m. at weekends. During these times, we ask that noise is kept to a minimum, including music and kitchen use late at night, as sound carries easily. If you are entertaining guests after 11:00 p.m., please keep gatherings in the living room.
Safety and emergencies
The first aid kit is located in the kitchen. The smoke alarm is mains-operated. Emergency exits are the front and rear doors. In the event of an emergency, please call 999 for medical, fire, or police assistance. The water shut-off valve is under the kitchen sink, and the manhole is in the neighbour’s drive.
Fireplace
The fireplace is one of the features that makes the house feel especially cosy. We love using the real fire in the winter for atmosphere rather than heat. If you would like to light it, we have left everything you need to get started.
Should you need any additional supplies, Jack’s local shop sells them and is usually open until around 9:00 p.m. each evening, although opening hours may vary throughout the year.
Please do not leave the fire unattended without the fireguard in place, and please make sure the fireguard is used before you go to bed.
Heating The house uses oil central heating. In summer, we usually use the boost setting for hot water, and in winter we use the timer. The control panel is beside the kettle in the kitchen. (Please check the timing is set to off for both the heating and the water before you leave at the end of your stay. See photo. Thank you)
Hot Water The water can be heated via the boost button on the control panel in the kitchen (See photo). Please be careful as the hot water can be very hot!
A Guide To Our Home
Bedroom 1
This front bedroom has a double bed and a single bed, with space for a travel cot if needed. The travel cot is stored under the shelves in the children’s room. Baby bedding, along with extra bedding for the other beds, is in the cupboard in the children’s room. The hairdryer is in the tall drawers.
Bedroom 2
This back bedroom has a wardrobe, and the hairdryer is in the top drawer of the chest of drawers. There is also a kettle if you’d like a relaxed morning in bed while enjoying the view of the boats in the bay.
Bedroom 3
This room has bunk beds, with extra bedding in the cupboard and plenty of wardrobe space. You are very welcome to use the children’s wetsuits hanging there as well.
Bathroom
Towels are stored in the bathroom and may already be hanging up to dry when you arrive. The ventilation system is linked to the light, so please switch the light on to activate it. As the bathroom is small, it can get quite steamy, so it’s also a good idea to open the window for a little while after use.
Kitchen
The kitchen has an induction hob and an electric oven. Pulling out the extractor will switch it on. At the moment there is only a small freezer compartment, but there is plenty of fridge space. The local dairy products are excellent, and the butcher in Moville is known for superb steak, which is ideal if you’re planning a barbecue.
Ironing supplies
The ironing board and iron are in the wardrobe in the front bedroom.
Dishwasher
The dishwasher is very handy, and if there are dishes in it before you leave, we would appreciate it if you could turn it on.
Waste
Recycling, including bottles, tins, plastic, and cardboard, should go into a black bag. We will dispose of this after your stay. The black bin is for everything else. Any full waste bags can be placed in the black bin by the back door, and we will take care of them for you.
Safety items
The fire extinguisher and first aid kit are here if you need them, though we hope you won’t.
Leaving Day
Checking-out
Check-out time is 12:00 p.m. At the end of your stay, please make sure:
• The front door key is returned to the lockbox, and the lockbox is locked again by spinning the numbers.
• The back door is locked, and the key is removed and left on the table.
• The heating and hot water are switched off.
• All windows are closed.
• The cooker, washing machine, shower, TV, and any other appliances are switched off at the wall or socket, not left on standby.
• No food waste is left in the house.
• The side gate is closed and bolted securely.
• The fire in the front room is fully extinguished.
